U10 League Description - 8 vs. 8

Fall Season: SATURDAYS from September 7th through October 26th at 9:00, 10:15, 11:30 AM, 12:45 PM, and 2:00 PM.

Description

This co-ed recreational league plays one game per week at Rockburn Park field #15 or Waterloo Park field #2.
***No tryouts are required to play.***
Mid-week practices will start one-two weeks before the first game.
Practice days, times, and locations are at coaches' discretion.
Participation awards will be distributed at the end of the season.

The U10 league uses an 8v8 format.
MANY studies have confirmed that smaller team sizes and less players on the field cause more rapid improvement for younger players.

Eligibility

Players who were 8 or 9 years old on August 1st prior to the start of the season.
Players may "play up" one year early into this league.

What to Bring

  • Shinguards are required
  • Game jerseys and socks are provided to each player
  • Soccer cleats are recommended
  • Bring a drink to each practice and game session (this is important!)
  • A size 4 soccer ball is recommended but not required

Baseball and football shoes have a front cleat which is dangerous and are not allowed unless this cleat is cut off.
No jewelry allowed. Pierced earrings will not be permitted to be taped over.
Sports goggles or eyeglass straps are highly recommended for safety reasons.
Contact the league coordinator, whose email address is at the bottom of this page, for additional information.
Click the schedule tab for more detailed game information as the season approaches.
If games are canceled due to inclement weather, the league coordinator will attempt to schedule mid-week makeup games whenever possible.
