Background Policy

Effective immediately all coaches and assistant coaches shall complete a 'Background Check Application' . Click on the link to the left titled 'Background Check Application'. It is a word document. Please read the Safe Kids Program below before filling out your application. You need to print it and fill it out completely. Once filled out it needs to be faxed to 410 418-5967 , emailed to eyosec@yahoo.com, or mailed to:

Once received it will be processed within 5-7 business days. In the event of a questionable response by Kroll you will be contacted by either the president, vice president or secretary to discuss your application.

The EYO board of Directors has instituted mandatory background checks for all coaches and assistant coaches starting with Spring 2008 sports. The background checks are provided at no cost to the coaches. The background checks will be valid for a period of three years. Please review the EYO Background Policy located the left for additional information.

Only the president, vice president or secretary have access privileges to the information provided. EYO is using a highly secure vendor to process the applications. The company is Kroll Background America.

SafeKids Program for Elkridge Youth Organization

The following constitute the policies of Elkridge Youth Organization with regard to awareness and prevention of abuse within our organization.

 

·         Elkridge Youth Organization is committed to provide a safe environment and to prevent child abuse and sexual misconduct.

 

·         Elkridge Youth Organization will make every reasonable effort to ensure that every person involved in coaching/training a sport activity in our organization will abide by the SafeKids guidelines.

 

·         Elkridge Youth Organization will make every reasonable effort to exclude any adult with a legally documented history of child abuse/molestation or any other conviction or record that would bring unnecessary risk to the   health and safety of the participants of this organization.

 

·         Elkridge Youth Organization will perform a criminal background check on every person applying for a position at our organization.

 

·         Elkridge Youth Organization will take appropriate action on all allegations of child abuse and/or sexual misconduct.  All allegations will be reported immediately to the authorities for investigation and will cooperate fully with any such investigation.

 

The following represent the preventive measures of our organization with regard to abuse:

 

·         Physical, mental, and verbal abuse of any of the participants, coaches, managers, employees, volunteers involved in our sponsored activities is not permitted.

·         Inappropriate touching of any kind is forbidden.

·         We agree to provide more than one adult working at or overseeing every activity. If a child needs special attention (one -on-one training or an individual meeting), it will be handled with the assistance or presence of another adult.

·         Coaches/trainers should not socialize with the participants outside of the sponsored activities of the organization.

·         Coaches/trainers should never ride alone with a child or participant in the car. Procedures will be established for coaches to follow in the event a participant is stranded at an activity.

·         Parents are encouraged to attend sponsored activities

BATTING CAGE


Batting Cage

Through cooperation with Howard County Parks and alot of hard work by Rockburn Park Staff it has been installed. The cage is over near field 7 & 8. It is open for any EYO member to use. If you would like to reseve a time for your team or your child please email Doug Link @ doug.link@hosthotels.com  to secure a slot. The reservation will be posted on the calender below. You do not have to reseve the batting cage to use it. However, if a team shows up that has reserved it you must allow them use of the cage.  Thank You

Gym Permits

Coaches,

Below you will find several documents displaying the approved gym permits for the 2008 / 2009 basketball season.  This information is being posted for reference only. Your league schedules will define when and where you are playing. Keep in mind that cancellations are received on a regular basis affecting the permit. Also be sure to view the bottom of the permit which has the list of dates the facility is not available. Again, DO NOT ASSUME the listed dates and times are available. Use should be co-ordinated through your league commissioner and ultimately the basketball commissioner.
